Went on a job interview yesterday2012-02-07 12:20:55 by red-tulips
I recently offered to work as a volunteer for a local business. I have not worked in several years & am receiving some benefits--my goal is to choose a job that i would like to have and work it for free for awhile to see if I am ready to return to the workplace w/o it jeopardizing my benefits. The owner of the business told me that someone has recently given notice, and that since it is illegal to work in her business for free (true, I checked) she would like to interview me for the position.
so yesterday I was interviewed by the owner & office manager. The problem, I feel, is that by originally offering to work for free I have no leverage for being offered anything more than minimum wage
