India: Puma sees potential in smaller towns

Monday,November 19,2012 The sportswear manufacturer Puma sees potential outside the major metropolitan cities of India,after the company has evaluated this market and anticipates significant growth.Puma wants to open several large-sized businesses and thus increase the awareness of the brand. The company is currently growing at 30-35 per cent and expected to grow even faster in the next year. According to Vipin Kapoor,head of Pumas main licensee Kapsons in northern India,offers the growing awareness of the brand among young buyers - the main target group - good chances for retailers in the clothing industry.He even noted that the demand despite the economic downturn continues to grow steadily.
